President Obama Honors The Passing Of Jim Crown, Billionaire Owner Of Aspen Skiing Co.

The Colorado Sun reported on Sunday, June 25th that Aspen Skiing Company owner Jim Crown tragically passed away in a single-vehicle car crash at a race track.

He allegedly hit an impact barrier at country club motorsports park in Woody Creek, Colorado.

Crown is a billionaire from Chicago with close ties to the Obama family. He served on the president's intelligence advisory board in 2014. The former president honored Crown's passing with a social media message:

Caption: "Jim Crown was a pillar of Chicago who cared deeply about making our city a place where everybody can thrive. Michelle and I were also very lucky to call him a dear friend. We're heartbroken today, and we send our love to Paula and their wonderful family in this difficult time."

Aspen Skiing Co. released the following statement on Jim Crown's passing:

“The Crown family is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Jim Crown in an accident earlier today,”

“The family requests that their privacy be respected at this difficult time. Further details regarding plans for a memorial to remember Jim’s remarkable life will be released at a later date.”
