There are many reasons the weather has been so extreme in recent years, and guess what? It’s going to stay that way this year. The 2017-18 winter forecast is apparently going to be super awful, so bundling up will be necessary.

It’s not great to go from enjoying a nice summer into surviving a freaking cold winter, but it’s better to know ahead of time. Plus, there are little things you can do now to make your immune system strong for later.

Preparation is everything!

So, what can we expect weather-wise this winter?

Meteorologists believe the northeast will have above-average snowfall matched with well-below-zero temps. The midwest can plan for the kind of cold that makes leaving the house impossible. The west coast will be mostly dry, but the south is still kind of a big question mark. The 2018 Farmer’s Almanac believes the south will be chilly and wet, but there are some ~differing opinions~ on the matter.

Regardless, planning ahead is important.

It is common for stores to run out of candles, flashlights, and other cold-weather supplies when a storm hits. Instead of panicking in the moment, make a plan for your household now. In general, having an emergency kit is a really solid idea.

You can never be too safe!

Though most everyone likes the idea of cozying up while the snow falls and the wind blows, it can easily become a dangerous situation. Remember to take care of your health and your home. Stay safe as the cold rolls in!
