Pregnant Ireland Baldwin Reveals This Iconic Actress Inspired Her Baby's Name

"I've always loved that name," the mom-to-be said of her future daughter's moniker.

Ireland Baldwin already has her baby's name picked out, and the new moniker has the sweetest meaning behind it.

Baldwin, the daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, appeared on the Girlboss Radio podcast this week, where she talked about her excitement for the arrival of her baby girl.

The 27-year-old is currently expecting her first child with partner RAC, and the pair already have the perfect name in mind for the little bundle of joy.

"We're naming her Holland," she revealed. "I'm Ireland, so another country name because we wanted to keep that consistent."

But the connection to her own name isn't her only reason for choosing the moniker, as Baldwin also got the inspiration from one of her favorite actresses.

"I love the actress Holland Taylor. I've always loved that name since I was young, I just thought that was such a classy, beautiful name, so we're going with Holland," she added.

When asked about her hopes for becoming a parent, Baldwin told the podcast host, "What I'm most excited about is really more centered around a lot of things I really wanted in terms of stability as a child myself that I didn't have."

"What's kind of exciting is I get to raise this little human and do things completely differently than what I was taught was the norm," she continued. "It's cool that I get to unconditionally love this person and do my best to make her as equipped for this world and badass as possible."

After first announcing her baby news last month, Baldwin got candid about her pregnancy journey in a lengthy Instagram post that was captioned, "This s—t is HARD."

She added, "And you’re not alone if you feel the same. And it’s ok to be REAL and post highlight reels. It’s ok to be happy and sad at the same time. I am grateful but I am struggling and that’s perfectly ok. 🫶🏼💕"

Baby girl Holland is expected to arrive sometime in June.
