Precious Pit Bull Returned to Shelter After 2 Years Due to 'Allergies' Is Ready for Her Perfect Home

,There are sweet shelter animals waiting for perfect homes wherever you go, but potential adopters in Florida often have their eyes on the Humane Society of Broward County. This dedicated animal shelter repeatedly goes viral on TikTok for its clever videos and adorable residents, but one special pup has captured the hearts of her rescuers, too.

Meet Diamond! This girls' girl is just as precious as her name implies, and it's not just because of her tutu and wagging tail. Sadly, the family who adopted her from their shelter two years ago recently returned her due to 'allergies,' and the poor pup couldn't be more confused.

In a February 6 video, the animal shelter staff shows off Diamond's best features in hopes of finding her a forever home. And let's be honest--she's melting hearts left and right!

What a gorgeous little pup! This Pit Bull gal seems so easygoing and fun-loving, and I'll never understand how someone could give her up after spending two whole years with her. It seems fishy to hear that she's coming back to the animal shelter because of allergies, especially so long after she was initially adopted. Whatever truly happened--they don't deserve her!

Instead, Diamond is being pampered by all of her friends at @humanebroward. She has all the blankets, bandanas, and attention a pup could ask for, though nothing would be quite as nice as finding her a forever home of her very own. Surely, her perfect person isn't far away!

Why Some Dogs Spend Longer in the Shelter

To someone like me, it's a mystery why an affectionate pup like Diamond would wait long at the shelter, but she sadly has a few odds stacked against her. Firstly, she's a Pit Bull! While the reality is that these dogs are just as friendly as any other, the long-standing stereotypes can give some people the wrong idea. Because of this, Pit Bull breeds can spend a lot longer in the shelter than other dogs.

Secondly, Diamond has black-colored fur. Black dogs also tend to spend a lot longer in the shelter for a few different reasons. If you've ever heard superstitions about unlucky black cats--then you're already familiar with one reason! Some people believe that black-colored animals are bad luck, but I think whoever ends up with Diamond will be so lucky!

Another reason why black dogs don't get adopted quickly is that they're harder to photograph. Yes, really! Many people find black fur to be less aesthetically pleasing, but Diamond has already proved those haters wrong, too. Clearly, she's a natural supermodel! Is there anything about this dog that isn't adorable and loveable? I think not!
