Powerball Jackpot Continues to Skyrocket

Your next chance to win big is during the Saturday, Nov. 5 drawing.

After Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot was left unclaimed, the grand prize has continued to soar, now approaching world-record amounts of winnings

The Nov. 2 Powerball had climbed to an estimated $1.2 billion ($596.7 million cash) after no winner was reached on the Monday, Oct. 31 drawing–the largest Powerball prize in more than six years, according to statements made by the Powerball chairman and Pennsylvania lottery executive director, Drew Svitko in a press release

But after last night's jackpot rolled over because no ticket matched all six balls that were drawn (white balls 2, 11, 22, 35, 60, and red Powerball 23), the next drawing has become one for the history books.

According to officials, if a player wins Saturday’s jackpot, it will be the second-largest jackpot in Powerball history and third-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history; only behind the world record $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot and the $1.537 billion Mega Millions® jackpot.

The Nov. 5 Powerball is estimated at $1.5 billion in winnings, with a cash option of $745.9 million.

Saturday’s drawing will also be the 40th Powerball drawing since the jackpot was last won on August 3 in Pennsylvania. If no one wins the jackpot in Saturday’s drawing, it will tie the game record for the number of consecutive drawings without a grand prize winner. The longest jackpot run in Powerball history ended on Oct. 4, 2021, when a ticket in California won a $699.8 million jackpot on the 41st drawing.

Despite there being no jackpot winner in Wednesday’s drawing, some lucky players won cash prizes grand totaling $74.9 million.

Big winners include 16 tickets from 12 states; Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas, and Virginia, which matched all five white balls to win a $1 million prize. Along with three players from Arkansas, Montana, and New Jersey matched all five white balls and increased the prize to $2 million by including the Power Play® option. There were also an additional 189 tickets nationwide that won a $50,000 prize, on top of another 49 players that won a $100,000 award.
