The only gripe is that it can get a bit messy separating the basket from the cardboard to separate for composting and recycling, but that’s a small price to pay for such a simplistic and effective design.

Because it rinses off quickly and folds flat, it’s the perfect morning companion for backpacking, travel, camping, van life, or really any situation where small sizing matters. There’s nothing overly fancy about the Pourigami, and that’s what makes it great (and easy for me to recommend). With no moving parts, it’s virtually safe from breaking and won’t break the bank at under $30.

For those looking for a simple, small cup wherever life takes them, you can’t do much better than MiiR’s Pourigami.

What to Consider

When buying a pour-over coffee maker, you want something that's efficient, easy to clean, and won’t take up too much counter real estate. You also want something made out of materials that retain heat well, like stainless steel, glass, and ceramic. Of course, there are complicated designs and variations for those really into coffee (and with the expertise to run the system), but there are also much simpler options that make daily pour-overs much more realistic.

Preferences vary among coffee drinkers, but there are basic designs of pour-over coffee makers with helpful features like measurement markers, ergonomic handles, and heat-resistant handles, and even electric models that you can place directly on your stove. Some pour-over coffee makers can also work almost as French press-style coffee makers, so if you love that type of coffee, you may want to go for that kind of tool. Also, some coffee drinkers prefer the more rustic approach to brewing here as compared to a traditional coffee maker.

Then, there’s the look of a pour-over coffee maker. Some love the daily ritual of making pour-over coffee and the soothing effect it has (#selfcare comes in different forms!). If you’re in that group, it may be worth spending a little extra money on something that almost serves as an objet d’art in your home. Speaking of money, you’ll also want to get a pour-over maker that makes sense for your budget — the simplest options are under $20 for a multi-pack, while the most complex pour-overs can surpass $200.
