A Postmates Delivery Girl Is Suing Lizzo for Defamation After Claiming She Stole Her Food
Lizzo is getting sued by a former Postmates delivery girl for defamation and infliction of emotional distress, according to TMZ.
Lizzo publicly posted the identity of said Postmates delivery girl back in September after claiming her food was stolen.
It’s been an interesting couple of months for Lizzo, to say the least. Things just recently died down for her after a Twitter user claimed she stole her tweet and turned it into the now-(in)famous “Truth Hurts” lyric, “I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100% that bitch.” It became a whole drama after Lizzo allegedly tried filing a trademark for it, but after she responded to the allegations, it was smooth sailing for her once again! Welp, until now.
Back in September, Lizzo came under fire for putting a Postmates delivery girl on blast—on Twitter, of all places!—for allegedly stealing her food. Perhaps the most messed-up thing about this, though, was that Lizzo actually posted the woman’s picture online, which was so not cool.
In the since-deleted tweet, Lizzo said, “Hey @Postmates this girl Tiffany W. stole my food she lucky I don’t fight no more.” Postmates apologized publicly for her unsatisfactory experience and they were able to work things out over DM. In a statement to People, Postmates said, “As soon as Lizzo reached out, we looked into the matter and quickly resolved the issue. We apologize to Lizzo for any inconvenience.”

The next day, Lizzo took to Twitter to issue a formal apology, but now, the Postmates woman is suing Lizzo for defamation of character and intentional infliction of emotional distress. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, “Lizzo has really screwed up her life when she went on social media and posted a picture of Tiffany claiming she pilfered the meal she was delivering to Lizzo’s Boston hotel back in September.”
The report also claims that Tiffany has received threats and has concerns about her safety. In addition to that, Tiffany is also suffering from stress and anxiety related to the incident. Because of the incident, Tiffany no longer works for Postmates.
