Post Malone’s Crocs Sold Out—and For Good Reason

The “Dmitri” Posty Croc is the shoe of the season.

The hottest shoe of the season isn’t what you might expect. It’s not Balenciaga’s latest incarnation of an ugly sneaker, nor is it among Nike’s highly anticipated new designer collabs. It’s certainly far removed from anything Yeezy would dream up. Believe it or not, the most coveted footwear drop of the year so far is a Croc. Post Malone’s Crocs to be exact.

The Chicago-born rapper posted a picture of himself wearing his banana-yellow designs which have already sold-out. They are so popular that even the Queen of Pop—yes, Madonna—wants to snag a pair. She left a comment under Malone’s selfie that read: “Omg i love those. How can i get some??” And who could blame her? They are actually kind of great. Christened the “Dmitri” but mostly referred to as the “Posty Croc,” the duckbill-shaped rubber clog comes in three colors: yellow, white, and black. It is covered in a print of a cartoon with devil horns and can be personalized with custom jibbitz (those are Croc charms, in case you were wondering) that include Malone’s face tattoo “stay away.” Roger that!

While the collaboration might seem totally unlikely at first—sensible shoemaker meets sad-boy rapper?—we’d argue that it’s a match made in fashion heaven. With his endearing, shlubby-chic style, Malone has been something of a quiet storm on the red carpet. (After all, no one can pull off a floppy man bun and a bolero tie quite like him), toeing the line between good taste and bad taste, much like Crocs. Consider that Balenciaga has collaborated with the label in the past—remember the death-defying platform take on the shoe that was covered in spikes from Spring 2018—as has Christopher Kane. Thankfully, Post Malone’s pair don’t come with a high fashion price tag, ringing in at just $59.99. And according to Crocs, the shoe will be restocked soon. Malone’s styling trick for Crocs is pretty budget-friendly, too: He wears them with a standard (hopefully washed?) white gym sock.
