Porcupine Sounding Like a Puppy on Camera Is Too Cute To Resist

If you've ever encountered a porcupine, you'd know how cute they are! Although you can't really pet them and should be cautious of them due to their quills and defensive behavior, they're still filled with some cuteness.

TikToker Sarah Bodkin Smith agrees, as she visited a zoo in Alaska and was able to capture the cutest sound of a porcupine begging for a snack in a video posted on October 16. Turn up that volume!

This is hilarious!

He literally sounds like a puppy crying for attention or a puppy that's hungry, as it typically involves whining, barking, or whimpering.

Look at those big brown eyes it has, and how gently it takes the dandelion leaf!

This is too cute!

While porcupines are not typically known for making sounds like puppies, they do have their own set of vocalizations.

They may produce low grunting or moaning sounds, often during mating or when they're in distress. When feeling threatened or cornered, porcupines can also hiss, which is a warning signal to potential predators.

However, while they are generally not aggressive animals and tend to avoid confrontations with humans or other animals, they have several defense mechanisms that can pose a risk, such as fanning out their quills or even biting.

Sometimes, porcupines will produce chattering sounds when they are agitated or annoyed.

However, this little fella was not in any of these scenarios; he was just hungry and wanted a little snack.

He also looks harmless.

Maybe he befriended a puppy somehow, and the sound of the puppy rubbed off on him.

We'll never know.
