Poppy Delevingne’s New Bath Collection for Jo Malone Was Inspired by Hours and Hours in the Tub

“Bath time is one of my most favorite things in the world,” says model and actress Poppy Delevingne, who literally—pronounced as a smooth, British “litrally”—struggles to fall asleep at night without one. And, like any daily ritual that can make or break one's beauty sleep, there are some ground rules. "Bubbles are key; rubber duckies are key; music is key—I like loud Fleetwood Mac or Pink Floyd; and it’s a strict no-phone zone." Anything else? "Always light as many candles as possible."

It's that bonafide affinity for a perfectly crafted soak that is behind Queen of Pop, the 32-year-old’s new limited-edition curation of bathing essentials for Jo Malone. In addition to buoyantly colorful candles and cologne that launch on June 1, the line features the London fragrance house’s first ever bubble bath. In keeping with the brand’s ethos that fragrances should always be layered, Queen of Pop’s offerings are designed to be mixed for a personalized practice. The three bubble baths—Velvet Rose and Oud, Nectarine Blossom and Honey, and Black Cedarwood and Juniper—were chosen by Delevingne to feel “indulgent, sumptuous, and almost transportive," she says. Not to mention stylish, considering the entire collection is patterned with playful '60s Pop Art stripes. The candle scents were chosen by Delevingne, too. They come in Blackberry and Bay, Grapefruit—which she loves because “it’s zingy!”—and Basil Neroli: “The most quintessential fragrance Jo Malone has done.”

And this fashion It girl would know. Memories of Jo Malone’s scents dating back to her adolescence influenced the curation of the collection’s colognes. Red Roses, for example, was the first fragrance Delevingne ever wore. “For me, it’s like an old friend—I always go back to it,” she says of the scent she wore at 18. Amber and Lavender is “a cologne my husband wore when I met him,” a perfume she now carries with her everywhere. A third beloved signature scent, Peony and Blush Suede, is “feminine, floral, and with a little edge,” she says. "All should be spritzed fresh out of the bath, when you’re all warm.”

And just when you thought there couldn't possibly be more bath time rules: “I like a bath that’s especially hot—so you’re practically comatose,” she says. “And you’ve got to stay in until you look like a prune, or you haven’t done it properly." So, what's the most epic tub she’s ever sunken into? “Oh yes!!!!” Delevingne says excitedly, pressing her hands together while she thinks. “There’s a bathtub in a place called Cuixmala in Mexico, where I had my 30th birthday party. It looked out onto the sea. It’s the biggest bathtub you’ve ever seen in the world—you could swim laps in it." Now, with red roses and all.

Queen of Pop launches exclusively at Jo Malone on June 1, and at Sephora.com on June 20
