Popeyes Capitalizes on 'Girl Dinner' TikTok Trend With New Meal Combo

With the popularization of charcuterie boards and other finger foods, more and more people are embracing the idea of small bites as opposed to massive meals. Such is the basis for the new viral "girl dinner" TikTok trend, where women showcase their low-effort, thrown-together meals.

Now, the fast food world is looking to jump on the growing trend. Popeyes just announced its new Girl Dinner menu consisting entirely of side dishes, available for pickup and delivery nationwide for a limited time only.

In a statement about the new meal combo, the Louisiana-founded fried chicken chain explained its reasoning behind the move.

"With the intention to offer a delicious variety of flavors to 'Girl Dinner' enthusiasts, Popeyes designed its 'Girl Dinner' menu to offer guests options packed with robust Cajun flavors that are made with the same slow, time-honored, homemade traditions of Southern cooking that the brand started in 1972—many of which defy logic for a fast-food restaurant, but which make Popeyes food taste great," a rep for the company said, according to Delish.

The Girl Dinner menu doesn't come with any fried chicken or other dishes that could be considered a main course. Customers have the option to choose between mashed potatoes with Cajun gravy, homestyle mac and cheese, coleslaw, Cajun fries, red beans and rice, and à la carte biscuits.

And in the spirit of girl dinner, you don't have to have every single thing on the menu when you order; you can choose what you'd like to eat, whether that be one item from the menu or all of them.
