Popeyes Brings Back Fan-Favorite Valentine’s Day Menu Item for Limited Time

One of Popeyes’ fan-favorite special menu items is returning this month to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The fast food chain announced the return of its heart-shaped strawberry biscuits this week. The popular pastries will be sold in a special heart shape in recognition of the lovey-dovey holiday, according to multiple media outlets.

The strawberry biscuits reimagine the chain’s much-loved flaky treats, giving Popeyes’ traditional biscuits a sweet, strawberry-flavored spin.

Popeyes first offered its traditional biscuits in heart shapes back in 2019 and debuted its heart-shaped strawberry biscuits last year for Valentine’s Day, according to Mashed. This year’s special menu item is arriving on Feb. 5—just in time for the day of love. The heart-shaped biscuits are expected to be available through Feb. 25.

A portion of customer purchases on Valentine’s Day will go to the Popeyes Foundation’s Serving With Love initiative, according to ABC News.

Fast food influencer Snackolator teased Popeyes’ returning menu item in a Feb. 2 post on Instagram. Snackolator, which often previews new food offerings from popular restaurant chains, described the return of the special strawberry biscuits as “romance on a plate.”

“They have a really nice strawberry taste throughout and then the icing on top makes these a perfect salty/savory and sweet balance and I could eat a bunch of these without a second thought,” Snackolator’s post said. “I know you can get them everyday, but there's just something fun about them being in a heart shape this time of the year.”

Popeyes isn’t alone in bringing special menu items into the fold for Valentine’s Day. Chick-fil-A recently announced the return of its Valentine’s heart trays, and Baskin Robbins said last week that its Love Potion #31 ice cream and Crazy For You Cake will return in time for the holiday. Dunkin’ is also rolling out special pastries for Valentine’s Day, according to Snackolator.
