Poor Cat Born With No Hips Getting Help with Fundraiser

A kitten from the UK named Phoebe born with no hips and backwards legs is getting so much needed love and support from the Severn Valley Rescue in Shropshire.

Phoebe is just as affectionate and happy as any cat, but she needs surgery to help stabilize her legs so she can lead the best life possible. She came to the shelter as the runt of the litter and they knew they had to do everything they could to get Phoebe the help she needs.

The Facebook post reads, in part, "Everyone meet "Phoebe" - the kitten born with no hips and backwards legs. Her hind legs are hyper-extended at the joints, and as a result of this they look like they are on back to front."

Phoebe is only 7 months old and she was the runt of the litter when she came to the shelter. Her owner realized she needed help but she could not afford the veterinary treatment needed. They had tried all the rescues they could think of in the north, but when we saw she needed a home, we obviously had to say yes, so she was collected and arrived from near Blackpool.

The shelter started a GoFund me page and explained, "She will need X-Rays, scans and specialist orthopedic advice to start and this alone could cost up to 3000, and then we are looking at surgery, possibly one leg at a time - which could run into several thousands."

A Happy Ending for Phoebe

The shelter posted an absolutely wonderful update on Phoebe, and they reached their fundraising  goal to get her treatment started. After speaking with the veterinarian, they have determined the best course of action is to work on making her left leg stronger and stable and go from there. In the previous post the shelter explained that Phoebe isn't in any pain and is just as affectionate as any cat, happily purring when she is shown love. The shelter has increased their initial fundraising target to help Phoebe with any additional surgeries she made need.
