Ponies Gather to Comfort Mom As She Prepares to Bury Beloved Dog

One of life's greatest gifts is spending it with the people and animals you love. These relationships bring so much light and joy into everyday moments, whether you see each other once a year or are practically attached at the hip. Unfortunately, though, nothing can last forever. Love isn't enough to buy somebody more time on Earth, and we all will grieve the losses of loved ones throughout our years.

As those who care for animals know, losing a pet or animal friend can be just as devastating as losing a family member. The bond between man and beast is accepting and unconditional, which makes saying goodbye that much harder.

Farm mom Kimberly Rodriguez recently found out that that very same bond can make grieving a bit easier, too. As she prepared to bury her daughter's beloved dog and rabbit, her miniature ponies gathered to offer condolences and comfort their mom. It's such a bittersweet moment, but it's also incredibly heartwarming. Get the tissues ready!

Wow, this is such a beautiful tribute to two beloved pets, Arrow and Kevin. They are wrapped so carefully in their blanket, and the flowers are the perfect touch. Kimberly and her daughter, who can be seen in later videos, really took their time to honor their late pets--and it shows!

Of course, the way the ponies approached and comforted their mom was the sweetest thing that could have happened to the grieving pet owner. Hot Sauce, Peewee, and Izzy could sense that something wasn't right, and they were as gentle and loving as could be. That shows a lot about how these miniature ponies have been raised and how much TLC they get on their farm in Washington. Kimberly should give herself a huge pat on the back for that!

There Are so Many Ways to Honor a Late Pet

As heartbreaking as this video may be to watch, it's also incredibly touching to watch the folks from @paintedponiesranch do something special for Arrow and Kevin. There are an endless number of ways that a person can honor a pet who's passed away, from burials or cremations to creating keepsakes from locks of fur. Some people have even ordered plush replicas of their beloved animals--it's all about finding what works best for you. Grieving is such an individual experience, and you should focus on whatever ideas are most comforting to you.

If you're lucky enough to have animals around during your grieving process, you'll likely find a lot of comfort in their company, too. Kimberly and her daughter are the perfect examples of how the love of animals can take a bit of the pain out of almost anything. And it's all thanks to these tiny ponies!
