  • Lululemon just dropped an upgrade to their best-selling sneakers: the Blissful 2 Women’s Running Shoes.

  • Podiatrists say they have key new design features that provide more comfort and stability—including added mid-foot support and improved shock absorption.

  • “Added shock absorption will translate to less wear and tear on your joints like your ankles, knees, hips, and back,” says Asim Sayed, D.P.M., A.A.C.F.A.S., a podiatrist based in Kansas City, MO.

Lululemon’s knack for creating stylish and comfortable leggings, yoga pants, and other athletic apparel makes it one of our favorite purveyors of workout wear. But the popular brand has been delivering some game-changing picks in footwear too. Case in point? Their latest release, the Blissfeel 2 Women’s Running Shoes—which podiatrists, as well as testers, are loving.

Just launched today, the Blissfeel 2 is actually a new-and-improved version of Lululemon’s first-ever footwear product, the original Blissfeel Running Shoes. First released in 2022, the shoes instantly became best-sellers for their innovative design specifically tailored for women’s feet; in fact, it was even named a winner in the Runner’s World 2022 Gear of the Year Awards. But just when we thought we’ve found the most comfortable sneaker yet—Lululemon has taken it up a notch to make the best-selling shoe even better.

The Blissfeel 2, of course, has everything you love about the original—including a supportive upper that provides comfort, foam cushioning that softens landings while you run, and a padded tongue and heel collar to ensure the perfect fit. But it’s also gotten some major upgrades—namely, key new design features that “provide a better fit and feel,” according to the brand.

In fact, the new shoe has earned a stamp of approval from podiatrists. “The Lululemon Blissfeel 2 design creates stability and support through your stride by contouring to the bottom of your foot,” says Asim Sayed, D.P.M., A.A.C.F.A.S., a podiatrist based in Kansas City, MO. “This is very beneficial for runners on hard terrain.”

Specifically, the most notable change in the new design is added mid-foot support, thanks to a new 3D-molded mid-foot panel in the shoe that helps “support the arch and enable you to run further without feeling fatigue,” notes Sayed. The midfoot is especially important in the running cycle, says Anne Sharkey, D.P.M., a podiatrist with the North Austin Foot and Ankle Institute in Texas, as it transfers the point of energy from heel strike to toe-off while you run. “Adding cushioning and stability at this location offers comfort and increases efficiency when running,” she explains.

But there are plenty of other great upgrades, too. “Added shock absorption will translate to less wear and tear on your joints like your ankles, knees, hips, and back,” says Sayed. “The new seamless frame they incorporated should reduce friction when you are running to avoid blisters.”

All to say: The new Blissful 2 running shoes provide more comfort, better support, and long-lasting wear. Not to mention, it also comes in eight beautiful colors and sizes five through 12—so you’re bound to find one you like. Starting today, you can snag one of these color options for $148 a pair on Lululemon’s website.

And if you find that you just can’t get enough of Lululemon’s shoes, you’re in luck: The brand also has their other models in stock, including the Strongfeel Women’s Training Shoe, the Chargefeel Low Women’s Workout Shoe—which is also available in Mid—and the Restfeel Women’s Slide.
