I am a podiatrist — and here's what I'm buying at Amazon's Big Style Sale

Fact: Amazon’s Big Style Sale is a mecca for shoe lovers. Need a new pair of flats for work? Sneakers for everyday? Sandals? The sale has plenty of options — and at record-low prices, too.
Who needs Prime Day when you’ve got deals like this? To help you sort through the styles, we asked New York City-based board-certified podiatrist Polina Zaydenberg which shoes are worth the investment—and what she’s adding to her own cart.
“I’m looking for trainers, not flats,” Dr. Zaydenberg shares. “Tennis shoes are generally much more supportive than flats. They’re better for the arches, especially for anyone with flat feet.”
Not all sneakers are created equal in Dr. Zaydenberg’s eyes, either. In fact, according to the doctor, your sneakers are doing you more harm than good if they’re made from man-made or synthetic materials. “Synthetics make feet sweat,” she tells Yahoo Life. “They promote fungal infections, itchiness and dermatitis.”
“Summertime is the worst time to wear synthetic shoes,” she continues. “Just stick with natural materials, like cloth or leather. Your feet will stink if you don’t.”
The doctor gave us a sneak peek into her Amazon shopping cart for the summer. Check out her picks below:
