I'm old enough to remember when people got upset over consequential things...
"When white people wear Native American Halloween costumes, Nahdee says it feels like a mockery of her own family’s tragic history."
What if a black person wears a Native American costume? How about an Asian? A middle eastern person? Why do you specifically call out white people wearing the costume?
Lets just cancel Halloween and every other holiday since someone is offended by it all.
I find politically correct nut cases offensive. Can we ban them?
So Native Americans shouldn't be allowed to wear jeans or t shirts, because that's white cultural appropriation? That sounds stupid, right? So does this. Native Americans are just people, same as Blacks, Whites, Asians, Africans, Europeans, etc. We can share, we're not children with toys. Nobody's clothes are too good to be worn by others. No hairstyle is too special to be worn by others. This is what racists do. They complain about being treated differently, being left out of mainstream society. Then when their ways, clothes, hair, language becomes mainstream, they want to be separate and special. It's impossible to be both.
I'm part Native and couldn't care less.
This nation has turned into a bunch of butthurt sissies that cry on social media for attention
What a bunch of sallies.
So, Hispanic, Black, and Asian girls can't wear Cinderella costumes now?
why is it that it's ok for a non white girl to dress as the main character from frozen but wrong for a white girl to dress as pocahontas
So what percentage of native American do you have to be to qualify to wear the costume then? before it's not considered "cultural appropriation".
I have a friend that has a card that says he is 1/256 Cherokee nation. Does he qualify? I'm 1/16 mikmaq can I wear one oh wait...... I have blue eyes.... my other buddy is half Irish half Washoe/Paiute can he wear a native American costume?
I'm so confused.
Cultural appropriation is the one of the worst terms I have heard of, it's ridiculous. Last year a little black girl came to my house dressed as Cinderella, she was adorable. We also had an Asian girl dressed as Elsa from frozen. Should I be offended because I'm 1/4 Danish? Where does this B.S. end?
Wow. I certainly hope she is informing the Native Americans she talks with to avoid wearing "white people clothing" and continue to wear their own native clothing instead! Sure wouldn't want them appropriating fabrics and clothing styles from the white designers and manufacturers!!!
