Beyoncé has ARRIVED! Last night, Queen Bey dropped her new single “Break My Soul,” and honestly, let’s just get right to it because it’s—as expected—amazing/inspirational/the only thing we’ll be listening to for the foreseeable future.

“Break My Soul” (which samples Robin S.’s “Show Me Love” and Big Freedia’s “Explode”) is the first single off of Beyoncé’s upcoming album Renaissance, which drops July 29. I’ll give you a second to request that day off work!

Personal fave lyrics courtesy of Genius? “Bey is back and I’m sleepin’ real good at night” (truer words), not to mention this whole section: “Now I just fell in love and I just quit my job / I’m gonna find new drive, damn, they work me so damn hard / Work by 9, then off past 5 / And they work my nerves, that’s why I cannot sleep at night.”

If you’re wondering what else we can expect from Renaissance, let’s turn our attention to Bey’s mom, Tina Knowles, who spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the album and said, “I’m a fan too. I’m very, very excited. I just posted recently that I really miss her singing, and I do. I’m as excited as everybody else. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it. She put two years of love into this. Many, many nights all night working. I can’t wait for the world to hear it.”

Bey herself also chatted about the vibes of the album last year to Harper’s Bazaar, saying, “With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again. I feel a renaissance emerging [editor’s note: SEE WHAT SHE DID THERE], and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible.”

She also noted that “there’s nothing like the amount of love, passion, and healing that I feel in the recording studio. After 31 years, it feels just as exciting as it did when I was 9 years old. Yes, the music is coming!”

She delivered!!!!!
