Good morning, important/somewhat amusing update on Kate Middleton's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton. They just sold their company, Party Pieces, to a "millionaire clown," according to The Sun.

Some quick background: Party Pieces provides party hosts with cute supplies, and back in 2013 it was valued at around £30 million. In other words: a ton of money! Though, it should be noted the company reportedly lost £1.068 million during the pandemic. Anyway, back to the millionaire clown!!!

The Sun reports that Party Pieces was sold in a "pre-pack deal" to James Sinclair, formerly known as Jimbo the Partyman, "an Essex-based entrepreneur." Apparently, James/Jimbo is the richest clown in the UK with over £10 million in sales, and on top of owning multiple ice cream parlors, he's written a book called The Millionaire Clown: The Rules for Making It In Business. Alert your book club!

FYI, Kate Middleton was actually the inspiration behind Party Pieces thanks to Carole getting the idea for the company at her fifth birthday party. The Princess of Wales also worked for her mom's brand before joining the royal family. As Carol put it to SheerLuxe, "Pippa wrote our 'Party Times' blog, James did the cakes when he first left school, and Catherine developed our first birthday and baby category."

Unclear if Kate has a stake in the family business and is taking home any money from this sale, but congrats to the Middletons on entering their Clown Era!
