These Platform Crocs Look Ridiculouly Comfortable

Fashion is all about creating memorable "moments," and while Dolce & Gabbana served up food-inspired fashions and Jeremy Scott took the nostalgic route with My Little Pony-inspired pieces, Balenciaga has one-upped them all with fashion platform Crocs.

While the brand also showed more "traditional" femme fashion footwear in the form of printed boots and textured heels, the real stars of the show were the Crocs collaboration (named Foam), which capped off a number of Spring/Summer 2018 looks:

Fashion has a history of occasionally embracing extremely comfortable footwear (runway showings of Birkenstocks, anyone?), and as anyone who's ever worn Crocs knows, those things are comfy as hell. Even a ten-centimeter-tall platform can't really change that. And this isn't even the brand's first foray into luxury fashion - British designer Christopher Kane has collaborated with them for three seasons.

So how did this collaboration come about? In an interview with Footwear News, Crocs SVP Michelle Poole shared that they were approached by the brand, and that "[w]orking with Balenciaga has been so much fun for our team, and once again demonstrates the relevance of our iconic clog in today’s fashion and design world, as well as allowing us to tap into the excitement and energy that comes from unexpected partnerships."
