This Plant Pop-up Hotel Has Rooms Dedicated to House Plants, Ferns, Cacti, and Palms
As any good plant parent knows, leaving your green babies at home is never easy. And while you can’t take a fiddle leaf fig tree as a carry-on on your next vacation, one travel brand is offering the next best thing: a plant pop-up hotel.
Travel booking site Orbitz is taking over rooms at the Kimpton Gray in Chicago and transforming them into a plant-lover’s paradise with the help of the Garfield Park Conservatory. No matter your favorite plant, there’s a room for you to lie back, chill, and just enjoy some relaxing photosynthesis.
The Fern Room has a king bed and “a multitude of variatels of live ferns and themed art” while the Aroid Room will inspire you to max out your own living space with “oversized house plants.” If you’re more keen on an arid climate, the Desert Room, with two queen beds, is your very own “desert haven” right in the middle of Chicago. Who needs Palm Springs?
The rooms are available to book now on Orbitz, with overnight stays offered Oct. 18–20. The rooms are first-come, first-serve, so you’d better get on it. To book, head the site and follow the instructions listed for the type of room you want. According to the site, once you book you’ll receive an email within 24 hours to confirm your booking.
Additionally, each room comes with special relaxation kits to “submerge yourself in the sights, smells and sounds of each plant’s natural environment.”
