Whether you're daydreaming about your next vacation, about to pull trig on a flight, or just generally enjoy looking at gorgeous destinations, you've come to the right place. We here at Cosmo have the privilege of traveling a lot (you've seen our CosmoTrips content already, right?), and have stayed in many a luxe hotel as a result. If there's one thing we've learned, it's that not all accommodations are made equally—and spots with five-star ratings aren't always worth the hype (or the $$$ nightly rate).

Because we want you to spend your moolah and PTO wisely, we put together a list of hotels and resorts around the world that we've vetted ourselves and would ✨highly✨ recommend to our family and friends (I like to think of us as friends already, tbh). We've got suggestions that span from cute U.S. cities to far-flung locales halfway around the globe, each tried and tested by yours truly. It's a hard job, but someone's gotta do it! Scroll through to see the best in hospitality—then grab your luggage and get packaging. That once-in-a-lifetime trip isn't gonna take itself!

Adronis Concept

📍Santorini, Greece

adronis concept
Adronis Concept
  • Cost per night: Starting at $578

  • Best for: Those who want to be pampered beyond belief

"First things first, the sunsets are ridiculously beautiful here. Adronis Concept is located on one of Santorini’s highest points, overlooking the gorgeous and seriously calming Aegean Sea. There are nine suites and villas to choose from if you make it a girls’ trip or you’re traveling with fam or your S.O. I enjoyed my own cozy suite with a private veranda, infinity pool, and a view of the stunning Santorini’s volcanic caldera. The architecture resembled a peaceful cave, and the resort definitely gave off a secluded vibe. I loved that it was all about wellness but wasn't too stuffy—I lounged, read a book poolside, ordered a Black Angus burger and fries from Throubi (their on-property restaurant that boasts floor-to-ceiling windows), and enjoyed a curated visit to their spa, Kallos. It. Was. Bliss." — Tarah-Lynn Saint-Ellen, Fashion Editor

The Little Nell

📍Aspen, Colorado

the little nell
The Little Nell
  • Cost per night: Starting at $1,366

  • Best for: Those looking for a swanky stay in a winter wonderland

"If you want to feel like one of the Real Housewives on a bougie-ass trip to Aspen, The Little Nell is where you're going to want to stay. It's the only hotel in the pretty city that's earned both five stars and a Five Diamond certification (a prestigious award for luxury properties with a focus on design), so it's no surprise it's where celebs stay when they're in town. As skiers, this spot could not have been more perfect for me and my fiancé—the hotel is literally steps away from the ski lift at Aspen Mountain, and a "ski concierge" was at our disposal throughout the stay, grabbing our rentals, holding our equipment, and bringing it out to the slopes whenever we wanted to shred some pow (cringe, sorry). Other main takeaways? The delicious on-site restaurant, Element 47; the stunning suites (ours had a fireplace and a wet bar with free snacks and drinks!); and the box of Ladurée macarons left by the bed every night with the turndown service." — Hannah Chubb, Associate Lifestyle Editor

Joali Being

📍Bodufushi, Maldives

joali being
JOALI BEING
  • Cost per night: Starting at $1,703

  • Best for: The over-water villa experience you've had on your bucket list for years

"At the risk of sounding like I just popped a bunch of edibles, Joali Being is much more than a hotel—it's an experience. The 68-villa property, which opened in November 2021, is built around the idea that you should ~let go~ of whatever's holding you down, so you can return home feeling a lil bit lighter. Case in point: all of the edges of the villas and other buildings are rounded instead of straight, so as not to 'disrupt your flow,' and the wellness programming is designed to help you release whatever's been weighing on you. The property is already immersed in one of the most beautiful settings in the world (remember: MALDIVES), but the entire retreat was also built with the concept of blending architecture with nature in order to achieve harmony. So because of that, the developers and architects did not touch the island's wild forest, and instead built around it. They also infused the property's design with the spirit of its surroundings (the villas, for example, are meant to be an extension of the Indian Ocean, with turquoise colors and wave decor). TL;DR: it's perfection." — Annie Daly, Contributor

Vomo Island Resort

📍Vomo Island, Fiji

vomo island resort
Vomo Island Resort
  • Cost per night: Starting at $769

  • Best for: When you want to feel exclusive as hell

"Fiji is a country made up of hundreds of islands, and a lot of those islands are home to only one or two resorts max. What makes Vomo so special is that there’s only one resort on the island (ahem, Vomo Island Resort) and nothing else. No grocery stores, no gas stations, nothing, hence the “private island” of it all. There are other people staying at the resort, but there are only about 30 villas total, which means you can go for hours without seeing another guest. My boyfriend and I truly felt like we had an entire island to ourselves. Another factor that contributed to the luxe, private-island feel of Vomo is that there’s a whole pool and bar that’s just for adults. We spent a few afternoons there and saw hardly anyone else. They also have a daycare and nanny service that guests rave about, but this adults-only area was a huge perk for the childless among us (read: me)." — Emma Baty, Senior Entertainment Editor

Ibiza Gran Hotel

📍Ibiza, Spain

ibiza gran hotel
Salva Lopez
  • Cost per night: Starting at $851

  • Best for: Those looking for a luxurious getaway...who might end up at the club after a few cocktails

"From the moment I stepped inside the Ibiza Gran Hotel—a five-star resort often frequented by celebs when they're in (the v ritzy) town—I felt like straight-up Spanish royalty. The staff was so kind and welcoming, and the lobby looked like it could have been an art museum. Probably because the hotel is filled with more than 400 incredible pieces from contemporary artists from around the world. There are two pools for swimmin' and sunnin', and several on-property restaurants (including La Gaia, where you must get the tasting menu) so good you'll actually never want to leave the hotel. But you probably should, because you're just a short walk away from some of the most popular nightclubs in town. (Just do it!) What makes this property truly one of a kind, however, are the rooms. I audibly gasped when I walked into my Superior Suite, which had a stunning view of Ibiza's old town, a massive balcony with a couch and lounger, and a hot tub in the middle of the living room. Long story short: it's luxury at its finest." — Hannah Chubb, Associate Lifestyle Editor

four seasons resort nevis
Four Seasons Resort Nevis

"If you're looking for some serious R&R, 10/10 would recommend the Four Seasons Resort Nevis, let me tell ya. It was love at first sight when I opened the doors to my suite, which had *stunning* ocean views, one of those beds that practically begs you to take an afternoon nap, and the bubble bath-worthy tub of my dreams. Although I have to admit, I was sold the second I entered the lobby, which features an open design and a breathtakingly beautiful view of an infinity pool overlooking the ocean (and because we’re talking about the Four Seasons, there’s not just one pool, there’s three!). Additional amenities include a full spa, golf course, tennis courts, pool cabanas, beach hammocks, floating dock bar, water sports, three restaurants, and so much more." — Hanna Flanagan, Contributor

Garza Blanca Cancun
  • Cost per night: Starting at $199

  • Best for: A fun-in-the-sun baecation, baby!

"Apologies for the cringe but if you quite literally like piña coladas, contemporary glam interior design, and just generally turning your brain off to lounge by the pool, then you’ll love staying at this luxury hotel. Garza Blanca is located in the Costa Mujeres neighborhood, a calm and tranquil area that’s just a boat ride away from the enchanting island of Isla Mujeres (y’know, in case you’re interested in a lil side quest while on your getaway). My bf and I were welcomed by the most lavishly designed lobby, complete with a full-service bar, grand piano, and light-up marble check-in counters—just NBD details. We were spoiled with an ocean-view suite that had a private terrace, a living room area in case I wanted to “catch up on some work,” and a stunning marble bathroom that made me suddenly want to become a beauty influencer who films “get ready with me” videos in impossibly luxurious locales. Take it from me, Garza Blanca is the place to book if you want to be floored by complete and utter opulence." — Kim Duong, Senior Shopping Editor

Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni
  • Cost per night: Starting at $516

  • Best for: A historic—and "holy-shit-this-is-swanky"—escape

"Since Lake Como was a bucket-list spot for me, I wanted to lean all the way in by staying somewhere that gave Italian grandeur and cinematic opulence—and Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni fully delivered. A historical palace dating back to 1873, the hotel has been in the care of the Bucher family for more than 100 years. What did that mean for me, and what does it mean for you? One hundred years of practice-makes-perfect hospitality—aka you’re in for a world-class vacation. Picture gold-leaf ceilings, stone terraces, and ornate antique furniture in the lobby and ballrooms. I stayed in a suite and had a private terrace that overlooked impeccably curated gardens. A few yards beyond that was the lake (yes, Lake Como!) itself and giant, tree-covered mountains, the bottom of which were speckled with villas of the rich and famous. If you want to feel like you're living in a postcard, this is the place for you." — Katie Buckleitner, Contributor

The Santa Maria Hotel and Golf Resort

📍Panama City, Panama

the santa maria
The Santa Maria
  • Cost per night: Starting at $23(!!!)

  • Best for: Those who don't want the same old vacation spots

"From the moment you enter the Santa Maria Hotel, you'll feel like you're living in luxury. The lobby is decked out in soothing natural tones and filled with handcrafted furniture and Panamanian art. Beyond the lobby, you can see the shimmering water of the enormous on-site pool, and beyond that, a lush green golf course. But my jaw actually dropped when I got to my suite, and not only because it was like, three times the size of my apartment (*laughs in New York City*). It had floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of the driving range (which you should def take advantage of), a king-sized bed with incredibly soft sheets, an enormous walk-in closet, a really deep bathtub, and a separate shower with a rain showerhead. Stunning!" — Jamie Ballard, Contributor

The Goodtime Hotel
  • Cost per night: Starting at $81

  • Best for: Those who want to relax all day and party all night

"Um, is this not *the* most Cosmo-esque hotel you've ever seen!? Lemme tell you, staying at the Goodtime Hotel was an ~experience~. When I walked into the lobby, I was surrounded by greenery and pink velvet accents, and I was immediately handed a glass of sparkling rosé to sip as I checked in. Then! The rooms! Mine left me swooning, thanks to a baby-blue vintage-inspired mini fridge, a pink and gold bathroom, and adorable custom art courtesy of Carly Berlin of Berlin Studio. Light poured into the room every morning, making it the perfect oasis to chill out in the hours I wasn't at the pool or beach. But arguably, the magic of the Goodtime is in the details, like the decked-out library, the café on the third floor, and the outdoor gym (that legit looks like the Love Island gym, FYI)." — Beth Gillette, Beauty Editor

Atlantis The Royal
  • Cost per night: Starting at $206

  • Best for: An experience that will make you feel like a celeb

"Atlantis The Royal is not only glamorous (just look at it!), but truly so massive that it feels like an endless palace. The entryway is lined with waterfall walls that—I kid you not—spout plumes of fire and lead into a large lobby decked out in white marble and gold accents. Just beyond are tons of restaurants (so! good!) and attractions, and if you’re just as obsessed with fashion as I am, prepare to be beyond thrilled for yourself/terrified for your credit card because the hotel houses truly *chef’s kiss* stores, including Valentino and Graff. Aside from the chic lobby, private beach, and amazing outdoor lounging areas, Atlantis The Royal is also home to the impeccable Awaken Spa, which boasts an incredible array of facilities, including a chromotherapy room, a Himalayan salt sauna, and a vitality pool. It was impossible not to feel relaxed by the end of my stay." — Gretty Garcia, Associate News Editor

Beaches Resort Turks & Caicos

beaches turks and caicos
Beaches Turks & Caicos
  • Cost per night: Starting at $56

  • Best for: Those who thrive in a wholesome all-inclusive environment

"Prepare to be hit with a serious case of nostalgia if you visit Beaches, because this all-inclusive resort will make you feel like you're on family vacation in 2003 again—but like, in the best possible way. There are five 'villages' that make up the resort, each inspired by a different country. While the vibes are obviously different for every village, they all feel very neighborhood-y. Think: rows of townhouses and centralized pools all within walking distance of restaurants and cafes. Basically, the resort gives tropical getaway meets elevated at-home comfort. Case in point? My not-so-humble abode for the week was a three-story townhouse with a stocked full-size kitchen, six-seat dining room, living room, two spacious bedrooms, two full bathrooms, balconies galore, and—wait for it—in-unit laundry!" — Christen Johnson, Lifestyle Editor

Fleur de Loire

It features its signature restaurant, Christophe Hay; a second restaurant, Amour Blanc; a pastry kiosk(!), a delicatessen; a bar; and (drumroll pls), a Sisley spa (!!) And, yes, I absolutely stuffed all the toiletries in my bag (I mean it's freaking Sisley, do you blame me??). SLS Baha Mar

📍Nassau, Bahamas

sls baha mar
SLS Baha Mar
  • Cost per night: Starting at $257

  • Best for: Good food, good design, good tanlines

"Baha Mar has three hotels to choose from. There’s the family-friendly Grand Hyatt ($$), the swanky SLS ($$$), and the ultra-luxe Rosewood ($$$$). They’re all situated within the Baha Mar compound along with a bunch of pools, restaurants, bars, and other cool amenities. My husband (hi, Rob) and I stayed at the SLS and it was amazing. Our spacious all-white room had two showers, a massive lounge area with a kitchen and washer/dryer, a plush king bed, and ample outdoor space to take in the resort views. And the SLS lobby? An airy wood and stone lounge space that turns into a chic bar at night. I would say the SLS is the most trendy/hip hotel of the three options at Baha Mar, but you don’t need to be an influencer type to fit in (although you’ll see plenty of them—content ops abound)." — Lauren Balsamo, Deputy Beauty Editor

The Barcelona Edition

📍Barcelona, Spain

the barcelona edition
The Barcelona Edition
  • Cost per night: Starting at $334

  • Best for: Those who want to be in the middle of the action, but also want a five-star experience

"From my experience, Edition hotels always have a warm, cozy aura that makes you feel like you’re in your own living room—and the Barcelona Edition is no exception. First off, the location is straight-up bomb. It's right in the center of the city, aka exactly where you want to be to hit up the best bars and restaurants, and for people-watching. It's also a 10-minute walk from the beach, so don't forget to pack your swimsuit and sunscreen if you go! The suites are huge—I was there with our Fashion Director for a shoot, and there was room to spare even though we had trunks of clothes in addition to our own suitcases for the trip. The aesthetic could be described as moody, with lots of wood paneling and super luxe details in the bathroom (basically, everything is gold...including the shower head). But the hands-down best part of our room was the couch nook in the corner, which gave us the perfect lil view of the city below." — Danielle Flum, Fashion Editor
