Pizza Hut Launches Menu Item With Eyebrow-Raising New Topping

Pizza Hut is jumping on one of the season's biggest culinary crazes, but there's a bit of a catch.

The chain has unleashed the brand new Pickle Pizza, which, according to the brand, makes it the first chain to launch a pickle-topped pizza, but it may take a little bit of work in order for you to obtain this dill-icious offering.

It features a hand-tossed crust, Buttermilk Ranch sauce, and cheese, crispy breaded chicken breast seasoned with Nashville Hot Seasoning, sliced white onions, and spicy dill pickles for toppings, and is finished off with a drizzle of Buttermilk Ranch,

But if you don't want to find yourself in the pickle of missing out, you'll have to act fast—this new option is only available at 932 8th Avenue in New York City through Sunday, June 11—or while supplies last.

“We’re always looking for innovative ways to add new tastes and textures to our dishes, and pickles have been gaining popularity due to their versatility,” Penny Shaheen, Head of Food Innovation at Pizza Hut, said in a press release. “With our new Pickle Pizza, we’re tapping into the latest food trends while also putting culinary thought into how they come to life on a pizza. Our recipe is all about great flavor, balancing the tanginess of pickles with other classic ingredients we know taste good on our beloved pizza.”

The Pickle Pizza retails for $17.99 and is available exclusively for in-store carryout orders. It follows the brand's revival of The Big New Yorker earlier this year—an oversized pie that originated in the '90s.

Maybe with enough positive feedback, Pizza Hut will consider adding it to menu's nationwide, though there's been no word on any future plans.
