Pioneertown will soon have a new option for breakfast on the weekends. Pappy and Harriet's, the prominent high desert music venue known for items such as steaks, ribs and nachos, is adding morning hours and eats to its menu.

Pappy and Harriet's will now open at 10 a.m. during the weekends and serve breakfast through noon, as well as some of its regular menu items. The restaurant has not included its breakfast menu on its website yet or provided any details, but did include some pictures in its Tuesday Facebook announcement of a bloody mary, eggs Benedict, bacon, hash browns and other brunch staples.

"For years everyone has b-egged us for breakfast," the restaurant said Tuesday in its announcement.

The Pioneertown destination has had a long and colorful history since 1946 when Roy Rogers and Gene Autry constructed it along with the adjacent old west buildings as film sets. But during the '70s, it was known as "The Cantina," an outlaw biker burrito bar.

Bands such as Pixies, former Beatle Paul McCartney, OneRepublic and many others have performed at Pappy and Harriet's in recent years.
