Ree Drummond is taking every moment in with her kids.

On April 16, the Food Network host posted a photo of herself posing next to her son Bryce in his college football uniform. Upon spotting them together, folks immediately noticed an important detail. It turns out that Ree helped announce that Bryce recently switched schools and football teams. Fans may know that he started off at the University of North Texas during his freshman year. Now, it looks like he has transferred over to Oklahoma State University, only an hour and a half away from the family’s hometown of Pawhuska.

While the distance between them has shortened, it seems like Ree still can’t comprehend how fast time has flown by. “First pic: yesterday. Second pic: seems like yesterday! 😭,” she wrote on Instagram.

Reacting to the heartfelt mother-son post, Pioneer Woman fans immediately took to the comments section with a number of questions. “How did I miss that he transferred?! 🤦🏻♂️👍🏻👍🏻,” one person wrote. “Thought he was in Texas. Why the change?” another added. “Where does the time go? ❤️😭😭,” a different follower said, referencing Ree’s caption.

Although there’s no information about why Bryce decided to change colleges, the athlete shared the news himself a few days prior on April 11. “Spring uniform is lookin a little different this time around,” he wrote on Instagram, alongside pictures of himself on the field. He also cited the Bible passage 2 Chronicles 15:7, which reads: “But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.”

According to Oklahoma State University’s official football website, Bryce arrived as a walk-on this spring. He was originally a quarterback-turned-linebacker on North Texas’ Mean Green team. Kicking off the 2023 season, he’s listed as a redshirt for the O.S.U. Cowboys. But we have a feeling it’s only a matter of time and practice before he takes the field again as he did in the Lone Star State.

Until then, Ree will definitely keep cheering him on and so will Pioneer Woman fans.
