Pinterest Creates a Woman-Focused Online Shop For Women’s History Month

This Women’s History Month Pinterest is celebrating with a new shop collection, featuring 25 female designers and shops from around the world. The move is an a effort to support female-owned businesses and brands as women have been the hardest hit by the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. A report by the National Women's Law Center showed that women lost 111% of U.S. jobs last December, while men gained 16,000 jobs.

“Pinterest has always been the place to be inspired and discover new brands. We are thrilled to give these women-run businesses a platform to shine," Aya Kanai, Head of Content and Creator Partnerships at Pinterest, said in a press release.

Pinterest has also created an International Women's Day Fund, whose donations will go to organizations that help women from various backgrounds gain social mobility. All donations to the fund will be matched by Pinterest and spread between Black Girl Ventures, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, and the Global Fund for Women. You can donate to the fund here.
