Piers Morgan and Good Morning Britain have taken the lion's share of controversial programming in 2017, and doesn't seem remotely ashamed.

The ITV morning programme attracted 1,142 complaints in September after inviting a gay conversion therapist onto the sofa.

ITV defended their decision at the time, despite the therapist, Dr Michael Davidson, claiming that homosexuality was "an aberration", "a sin" and "in some cases reversible".

Morgan appeared to cheer the news when a headline by the i newspaper appeared on Twitter, retweeting it with the word "BOOM" and two fist-bump emojis.

His efforts were supported by Nigel Farage, who commented: "He must be doing something right then".

Good Morning Britain made a second entry in Ofcom's Top 10-complained about moments on television, when, in June, they interviewed Tommy Robinson, who co-founded the English Defence League.

Other offensive moments included Amanda Holden's low-cut "topless" dress on Britain's Got Talent and violent scenes in both Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
