Pierre-Louis Mascia’s Eclectic Prints to Hit the Runway for the First Time at Pitti Uomo

FLORENCE DEBUT: Pierre-Louis Mascia is hosting his inaugural runway show at the upcoming edition of Pitti Uomo, WWD has learned.

The French menswear designer has been a regular Pitti Uomo exhibitor for several seasons, for example staging a striking exhibition at Palazzo Antinori in Florence in January 2023 to mark its 15-year partnership with Como, Italy-based manufacturing company Achille Pinto.

The show will take place at 6 p.m. local time on June 13, the men’s trade fair’s penultimate day. The location for the runway event has yet to be disclosed.

“I am very happy to present my collection in this format, which is new for me, at Pitti Uomo, the fashion event [that] for the past 16 years has been fundamental for the launch of many of my collections,” Mascia said. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to convey my love for beauty and to express my creative vision that encompasses nature, culture, art and fashion. I will do my best to create something that is truly unique and surprising.”

The upcoming edition of Pitti Uomo is scheduled to take place June 11 to 14, drawing Marine Serre and Paul Smith among its guests. The full roaster of events and initiatives has yet to be revealed by organizer Pitti Immagine.

“The project-event that Pierre-Louis Mascia has developed for June reflects his strong ties with Florence and Pitti Uomo. Ever since the beginning we believed in the uniqueness of his vision: a strong stylistic imprint, the distinctive lines of his collections between graphic patterns and floral prints, archive research, and excellent materials,” said Antonio Cristaudo, Pitti Immagine director of marketing and development.

The Toulouse, France-born Mascia launched his namesake collection in 2008 with the collaboration of the Uliassi siblings, owners of the storied silk printer Achille Pinto in Como, Italy. He first launched a series of scarves, then expanded into apparel and accessories. He is known for his signature patchworks that mix patterns and images and are printed by Achille Pinto.
