The 14 artists performing on ‘American Idol’ night one, include some soundalike names for Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie!

American Idol returns for its sixth season on ABC tonight (21^st overall) with superstar judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie once again searching for the next singing sensation as they listen to auditions in Las Vegas, New Orleans and Nashville.

Tonight, will see the return of some familiar faces, including Kya Monee’, who dueted with Willie Spence on Season 19 of American Idol, and Megan Danielle and Michael Williams who were both on Season 18 of The Voice.

But then there’s a funny bit, as well, where Luke, Katy and Lionel meet three artists whose names sound just like theirs! Some of them can sing and others aren’t quite right for American Idol and don’t get their ticket to Hollywood, but it’s all in good fun.

American Idol Night 1 Artists:

L-Rich né Lionel Richiee hails from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Luke Uzzell Bryan was originally from Goldsboro, N.C., and is currently living in Nashville, Tenn. He is one of the tallest contestants at 6 feet, 4 inches.

Katey Parry is from Normal, Ill., as was last season contestant Leah Marlene.

Colin Stough is from Amory, Mississippi.

Haven Madison is a pop singer-songwriter from Clarksville, Tenn.

Iam Tongi né William Guy Tongi was originally from Kahuku, Hawaii but now lives in Seattle.

Jack Nicora is a 20-year-old crooner from McKeesport, Penn.

Kya Monee’: Kya competed on Season 19 of American Idol when she dueted with the late Willie Spence, who was the runner up of that season. Willie was supposed to be there with her but, as reported, he died in a car accident.

Lucy Love né Shawndria Beard hails from Holly Grove, Ark.

Lyric Medeiros is from Honolulu, Hawaii.

Megan Danielle: Megan may look familiar because she was on Kelly Clarkson’s team on Season 18 of The Voice.

Michael Williams: Michael, from Deerfield Township, Ohio, was also on Season 18 of The Voice on Nick Jonas’ Team.

Tyson Venegas: The 17-year-old soulful pop singer is from Vancouver, Canada.

Zachariah Smith is from Orlando, Fla.

American Idol premieres its sixth season on ABC on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
