All the Photos from Prince Charles and Camilla's Visit to Greece
The last year has made some major changes to the royal family's usual travel roster—state visits were canceled, in-person events postponed, and a wealth of discussions moved to virtual formats in order to protect everyone during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. But now, it appears that things may finally be getting back to the royal version of "normal," and Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are finally back out on the proverbial road.
The royals (both of whom have been vaccinated) headed to Greece this week for two days of celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of the country's 1821 revolution and war of independence. During the trip, they met with Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, as well as attending several events to commemorate the bicentennial.
"In feeling a profound connection to Greece—her landscapes, her history and her culture—I am hardly alone," Charles said during a dinner at the Presidential Mansion. "There is something of her essence in us all. As the wellspring of Western civilization, Greece's spirit runs through our societies and our democracies. Without her, our laws, our art, our way of life, would never have flourished as they have."
Here's a look at some of the best photos from the royals' two-day trip.
