Before And After Photos From Lake Tahoe Ski Area's Record Season Are Unreal

More snow fell last winter in parts of Lake Tahoe than any winter in recorded history.

Mt. Rose, one of Tahoe's many ski areas, recorded 668 inches (55.67 feet). The ample snowfall allowed the ski area to extend its season into late April.

Rose is following the trend of Utah skiers by sharing pictures from winter and summer to put last season's snowfall into perspective. Check out the incredible pictures below. Click the arrow to the right to view each image.

Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe: "Dreaming of powder days? Us too. Just a few lingering snow patches remain, and it's hard to believe what the mountain looked like just 4 months ago. Some of us might even miss shoveling…"

You the snow is deep when signs that normally hang a couple of stories above the ground are reachable...

I had the pleasure of skiing Mt. Rose on a beautiful day in mid-March of 2023. A light 1-2 inches of snow had fallen the night before, and the entire mountain was open by noon.

It was my first time at Rose, and I was excited to ski 'The Chutes', the mountain's iconic inbounds big mountain terrain. I hope I don't upset anybody when I say this, but I was slightly disappointed...

The snow was absolutely fantastic, the views were incredible, the funneled rock walls were exciting, but there was simply too much snow. Even the steepest pitches were mellowed out by the tremendous heaps of snow piled high.

All things considered, having too much snow is always more desirable than the opposite, and I thoroughly enjoyed lapping 'The Chutes' even if they weren't as big, bad, and scary as they're hyped up to be.

They burned my quads all the same, and produced an equally enjoyable self-giggle fest at the end of each run. Oh? I'm the only one who giggles to themselves after crushing a satisfying run? Noted...

Here's hoping it snows another 600+ inches at Mt. Rose next season.
