All the Photos of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's Historic Inauguration Ceremony

Today, President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will be sworn into their posts in a ceremony on the west side of the Capitol—albeit a scaled down one, with "vigorous health and safety protocols in place." Lady Gaga is set to sing the national anthem, and Jennifer Lopez will perform; they'll be joined by Father Leo O’Donovan, who will read the invocation; firefighter Andrea Hall, who will say the Pledge of Allegiance; poet Amanda Gorman, who will give a reading; and Reverend Dr. Silvester Beaman, who will give the Benediction.

Afterwards, Biden and Harris will take part in a "Pass in Review" on the east side of the Capitol, in which the newly sworn in President and Vice President, and their spouses, Dr. Jill Biden and Doug Emhoff, will survey uniformed service members, paying tribute to the nation's tradition of a peaceful transfer of power. Later, they'll be joined by their spouses—as well as Barack and Michelle Obama, George W. and Laura Bush, and Bill and Hillary Clinton—at Arlington National Cemetery, where they'll lay a wreath a the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Finally, Biden will receive a Presidential Escort from 15th Street to the White House, and a "Parade Across America," which promises to "feature diverse, dynamic performances in communities across the country" will be televised in lieu of the traditional in-person parade.

After a few hours' break, the remote celebrations will resume at 8:30 pm E.T. for a "Celebrating America" primetime TV special, during which both Biden and Harris will give remarks. Tom Hanks will host, and the likes of Ant Clemons, Jon Bon Jovi, the Foo Fighters, John Legend, Eva Longoria, Demi Lovato, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, and Kerry Washington are all slated to appear.
