Four days of memorial events have been planned for the former president.
The memorial services in honor of George H. W. Bush began in earnest Monday morning, when his casket was transported from a funeral home in Houston to Ellington Field via motorcade. A departure ceremony was subsequently held, seeing off the former president's remains as they departed for Maryland.
Several services have been planned for the subsequent days. After the casket lies in state in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, funerals will be held in D.C. and Houston. Finally, the former president's remains will be interred at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum late Thursday afternoon.
