The Batman is just weeks away from its March release, which means we'll finally find out what Robert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne is really like.

Ahead of its release, Warner Bros has released some images of some of Gotham's biggest villains that we'll be seeing, including Paul Dano as Riddler, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin – both of which are nothing like we've seen before in previous Batman outings.

Matt Reeves' version of the famous characters sees the Riddler dressed in some kind of serial killer get up – no green catsuit or bowler hat to be seen anywhere – showing that this movie could be an even darker Batman than first thought.

A recent trailer has hinted at a huge fan theory involving Riddler, and how his crime spree through Gotham City could relate directly to Batman.

Farell looks unrecognizable as the Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot, in a purple and black suit jacket, looking as much like a mob boss as he could.

While the villains look scarier and the trailers darker, Pattinson teased that Reeves' vision was "radically different" from previous Batman installments.

"For some reason, Batman has always stood out as one of the major characters of the 20th century, and so many people connect with it on such a deep level for so many different reasons," the star explained.

"From the first conversation I had with Matt about it, I just knew that there was something radically different [here]."

Pattinson has already shared his hope of starring in a couple of sequels so it's probably a good thing he feels so connected to the character.

Reeves has also recently confirmed that The Batman will be completely separate from the Worlds of DC Multiverse, so he won't have to worry about continuity from other movies.
