Phoenix just got a long-awaited new flight to Europe. Where you can go and when it starts

This summer, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport will get its fourth long-haul international flight to Europe.

Air France will begin flying nonstop between Phoenix and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in May 2024.

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego announced the new route on Monday, Jan. 22, by declaring it "a big win for Phoenix" with an estimated $30 million in economic impact per year.

"The number of passengers flying between Phoenix and Paris has grown nearly 40% in the last year as compared to 2019," Gallego said. "I'm confident that this new route is going to make this frequently traveled path even smoother."

She said the route will be established in time for the 2024 Olympics, which will take place July 26-Aug. 11 in Paris.
