Phoenix-area weekend weather expected to heat up in time for Mother's Day

Warm days are here again in time for Mother's Day. And they're about to get warmer.

The expected high temperature for Friday is set at 93 degrees. On Saturday, the high will hit 95 and temperatures will reach 98 on Sunday, according to National Weather Service Phoenix meteorologist Katherine Berislazich.

"We've been cooler over the past couple of days. We're starting our gradual warming trend now," Berislazich said.

This weekend's temperatures are slightly higher than those for the same time last year. The high for May 11, 2023, was 90 degrees and the high for May 12, 2023, was 97, according to Berislazich.

Weather conditions will be sunny and breezy with winds gusts at 20-25 mph on Saturday, and winds will be 16-20 mph on Sunday, Berislazich added.
