Pharrell Williams has established himself as much more than just a Grammy-winning artist. Back in June, the "Happy" singer revealed his first-ever collection with Louis Vuitton at Paris Fashion Week, which included the eye-catching Millionaire Speedy Bag. Now, as LV prepares to begin selling the bag, PETA is speaking out about the luxury item.

The Speedy Bag is handmade from crocodile leather and is built with gold hardware features on the handles and shoulder strap, while the pendants are encrusted with real diamonds. It'll be available in yellow, red, green, blue, and brown and will live up to its name, as it'll retail for a cool $1 million.

As for how the idea for the LV bag came together, Pharrell told GQ he "reimagined it as a Canal Street counterfeiter might, in primary colors, but on leather so soft it seems to melt when you hold it in your arm."

The bag's leather construction isn't exactly sitting right with PETA. In an open letter to Pharrell, the animal rights' organization's senior vice president Lisa Lange addressed Pharrell directly about the collaboration while referencing some of his hits throughout the years.

"When you were made men’s creative director of Louis Vuitton [in February 2023], we hoped animals would get lucky and that you would choose vegan fabrics, which are the preference of today’s ethical and environmentally conscious consumers. But we aren’t happy to note your newest design, the "Millionaire" Speedy bag, which is crafted from crocodile skin, because when it comes to animals being used for fashion, it isn’t beautiful—it’s abuse."

In this case, it might make both PETA and your wallet happier to go the counterfeit route.
