Peter Sagan is a world-famous, decorated road cyclist from Slovakia. At the end of 2023, the 34-year-old Sagan announced he was retiring from road racing to return to his mountain bike roots.

As it turns out, mountain bike fans are ready for him. See his reception at the first World Cup in Mairipora, Brazil below.

In this video, Sagan signed autographs for a horde of excited fans. Sagan is in Brazil for the first World Cup of the season which will take place this weekend.

Though mountain bikers may feel cool, the sport has far less star power than that of road cycling.

After racing mountain bikes as a junior, Peter Sagan had a stellar road career. He specialized as a sprinter and took home seven green jerseys at the Tour De France.

Sagan will race on the Specialized Factory Racing team. See his introduction to the team below.
