Peter Hawkings Remains Committed to Keeping 'Old Tom Ford' Signatures Alive

Let the record show, if there's anything to know about Tom Ford Creative Director Peter Hawkings it's that he's completely committed to keeping his predecessor's original design codes alive.

In a continuation of his debut collection last season, Hawkings builds upon overt references from the past while adding his own sexy, modern touches. Descriptors like sleek, chic and glamorous perfectly define the Tom Ford woman of 2024. Among the fall lineup are sheer column dresses, thigh-baring maxis, voluminous fur capes and transparent chain-mail gowns.

As with last season, tailoring is also prominent, via plenty of double-breasted coats and a slew of the beautifully cut, '70s-tinged three-piece suits that Ford, the man, made famous in the '90s during his time at Gucci. Other than the few hints of purple, Hawkings stuck to a familiar color palette of black, gold, white and grey.

Yes, the collection is once again very Tom Ford (the designer, under whom Hawkings worked for most of his career) — but in a world that's constantly focused on finding the next new thing, sometimes, if something isn't broke, there's no reason to fix it.
