Peter and Autumn Phillips may have split up, but they're still enjoying each other's company. The couple, who announced they had "jointly agreed to separate" last month, were seen attending the annual Cheltenham Festival side-by-side.

In their first public appearance since making their separation public, the pair were spotted cheering on the horse races at the Cheltenham Racecourse, and even spending time with Peter's mother, Princess Anne. In photos, it appeared that Autumn wasn't wearing her wedding ring.

When the couple revealed their plans to split last month, they issued a statement stressing that they were parting on good terms. "They had reached the conclusion that this was the best course of action for their two children and ongoing friendship," it read. "The decision to divorce and share custody came about after many months of discussions and although sad, is an amicable one."

The statement also noted that Autumn would continue living in the UK—not returning to her native Canada, as some had speculated—and co-parent the couple's daughters, Savannah, 9, and Isla, 7. "Both Peter and Autumn will remain in Gloucestershire to bring up their two children where they have been settled for a number of years," it read.

It's understood that Autumn and Peter's split didn't come as a surprise to the royal family. The couple told Queen Elizabeth about their intentions in the fall, "after many months of discussions."

When the news broke last month, a source told Town & Country that both Peter and Autumn's families were onboard with their plan. "Whilst sad at the decision, both families are hugely supportive of them both and the girls," the source said.
