Us Weekly was very close when it reported earlier this week that new couple Pete Davidson and Margaret Qualley were planning to make their red carpet debut at the Venice Film Festival. The SNL comedian and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actress attended the premiere of her film Seberg at the festival, and while they didn’t walk the carpet together, Davidson sat behind his new girlfriend in the theater. Qualley wore a strappy lilac gown while Davidson looked sharp beside her in a suit.

Qualley and Davidson were seen out in Italy yesterday. A source told E! they arrived at the airport together and while they weren't showing any “excessive PDA,” they were laughing and looked like a couple.

Us Weekly reported that the two have been dating on the low for a while. “They’ve been seeing each other for a couple of months, and Margaret is really excited about him,” a source told the outlet.

This time last year, Davidson was engaged to Ariana Grande. The two would break up in October, but shortly before that, they went to the MTV VMAs together in August. That was Grande and Davidson's first big red carpet event and only award show together. There was a lot of PDA happening there:

Grande spoke earlier this summer about how her and Davidson's rapid-fire romance and engagement happened after her and Mac Miller's spring breakup. “My friends were like, ‘Come [to New York City]! We’re gonna have a fun summer,’" she recounted. "And then I met Pete, and it was an amazing distraction. It was frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic, and I loved him, and I didn’t know him. I’m like an infant when it comes to real life and this old soul, been-around-the-block-a-million-times artist. I still don’t trust myself with the life stuff.”
