Remember that time when Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande dated? Well, it looks like Pete Davidson is reminiscing about his former flame in his latest show.

Bupkis shows an exaggerated version of Pete’s life and takes an interesting turn throughout the season as you learn more about the comedian and what he’s going through. Of course, just like the title of the show hints at, some of this stuff totally did not happen. However, this scene does feel like one that our parents would reenact if they were in the same spot.

In the show’s third episode, which you can watch on Peacock right now and was cowritten by Pete and Judah Miller, Pete is freaking out over a photo of him that’s all over the internet (hint: go to his Wikipedia page). But while he’s trying to figure out a way to take it down, his mom, played by Emmy winner Edie Falco, talks to his manager, Evan, about what’s been going on in his life.

As Evan reveals his plan to propose to his long-term girlfriend, Edie’s character, Amy, makes a big mention about a song Ariana Grande wrote about her former fiancé.

“You wanna get engaged? Peter was engaged once. I don’t know if you heard about how that turned out,” she said. “Do you want a song written about you? And the worst part is, I like the song, you know? It’s like an earworm. It’s got a very catchy hook.”

The first song that obviously comes to mind is “Pete Davidson” off of Sweetener, but considering the fact that she’s warning him about having a song written about you, it actually might be a reference to “Thank U, Next” from the album of the same name. And yes, we have to agree, it’s still super catchy.

Ari is not the only one of Pete’s flames who’s mentioned on the show. His ex Carly Aquilino makes an appearance as herself in the show’s fifth episode. Meanwhile, Pete’s current rumored GF and Bodies, Bodies, Bodies costar Chase Sui Wonders appears throughout the season.

And because this show is obviously a comedy, it seems like Pete is having some fun with his exes throughout the show. He might even be listening to the song right now.
