  • Pete Davidson has canceled a comedy show appearance days after his breakup with Ariana Grande.

  • He has otherwise remained quiet about ending his engagement.

  • Ariana is back to work, singing a song from Wicked for an upcoming TV special.

It's been a dramatic few days since it was announced that Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson were calling it quits, with Ariana returning her $100k engagement ring and posting about her anxiety online, and fans urging Pete's ex Cazzie David not to take him back. Pete's been relatively quiet in all of this, but he recently canceled a gig post-split.

According to People, the comedy show was titled "Comedy Night Live," and it was supposed to take place at Temple University in Philadelphia this Wednesday. But on Tuesday, the school announced in a statement that Pete had backed out. "Unfortunately, Pete Davidson will no longer be able to do our homecoming show due to personal reasons," the statement read. The show ended up replacing Pete with Adam Devine.

Meanwhile, as Us Weekly reports, Ariana is back to work. The singer did cancel an appearance at a cancer benefit concert last Saturday, but she posted about "sing[ing] my heart out" on her Instagram story Tuesday.

The singer is gearing up for her appearance in NBC's Wicked special. The show is officially titled A Very Wicked Halloween: Celebrating 15 Years on Broadway, and it will air on October 29. Ariana will be one of the guest performers during the special, and she'll be singing at least one song, Elphaba's "The Wizard And I."

She's been posting a flurry of photos online, including a photo of her script with the caption, "honored to be included in this celebration of 15 years of my favorite musical of all time. wouldn’t miss it for the whole universe," which some fans took to be a reference to her breakup.
