"I've had a really weird year," says Pete Davidson in a new standup comedy set for Netflix. He is referring, of course, to the drama that has seemingly followed him around since he started dating Kim Kardashian, most of which seems to stem from public comments made by Kardashian's ex-husband, rapper Kanye West.

Davidson gets into some of the specific details of the feud in the new special, joking that he "had an AIDS scare" recently, but that it wasn't due to any of the reasons you might think, like having unprotected sex or sharing needles.

"No, Kanye told me I had AIDS," he says. "And he's a genius, so I was like, oh fuck. I was like, I'd better call my doctor, the guy who made The College Dropout thinks I have AIDS!"

The Saturday Night Live cast member has reportedly been "pushed to the limit" by getting caught up in the fallout of Kardashian and West's divorce, and he addresses the experience of living through such public acrimony.

"It's been a really weird thing to go through," he says. "Because people try to give you advice, but even friends that are older are like, 'I don't know, it looks pretty bad bro, good luck, sorry, here if you need,' but no advice!"

"A lot of people are very angry at me," he continues. "It's always 50/50 when I go outside... Either someone's just like, 'hey man, you're really cool, that's great,' or someone's like 'hey yo, fuck you!'"
