Pete Davidson Addresses Kate Beckinsale Relationship Rumors on Saturday Night Live

Earlier this month, social media was abuzz after Pete Davidson was spotted engaging in a serious PDA with Kate Beckinsale. Now, it seems the Saturday Night Live comedian might have confirmed the dating rumors while addressing the age difference between the two stars.

During an appearance on SNL’s “Weekend Update” on Saturday, March 9, Pete was asked about the relationship by Colin Jost. “Is there anything else going on?” Colin inquired, adding: “Like a new girlfriend situation?”

Without mentioning Kate by name, Pete answered, “Apparently people have a crazy fascination with our age difference, but it doesn’t really bother us. But then again, I’m new to this.” (For reference, Pete is 25; Kate is 45.) The actor went on to suggest that if people have “questions about a relationship with a big age difference,” they should ask one of the many other celebrities with similar experiences, listing a slew of names including Leonardo DiCaprio, Harrison Ford, and Scott Disick.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Pete and Kate’s rumored relationship reportedly began at a Golden Globes after-party, and they were then spotted on several dates in the Los Angeles area.

Kate has yet to address the relationship, but the actor did comment on one of many memes that have emerged after the pair’s kiss at the New York Rangers hockey game was caught on camera.

Celebrity romance can be exciting, but it’s important to remember to respect stars’ relationships — and privacy. As Pete pointed out, plenty of other celebs (and real people, too) have dated someone outside of their age bracket. And given the level of harassment Pete received following his breakup with ex-fiancée Ariana Grande, hopefully fans will be more mindful of keeping opinions, especially negative or hurtful ones, to themselves this time.
