Peta Murgatroyd Reveals the Sex of Baby Number 3 & Shares the Unique Naming Tradition She’s Following

Peta Murgatroyd is fully embracing the boy mom life! The pregnant dancer announced the sex of baby number 3 with husband Maksim “Maks” Chmerkovskiy today, and they are having their third boy.
“It’s a …….BOY! 🩵🩵🩵” the Dancing With the Star pro wrote on Instagram today. “I’ve been quietly preparing myself to be a real-life wolf pack Mumma with our THIRD baby boy on the way 🙏🏻🤣💙 I CANNOT BELIEVE WE WILL HAVE 3 BOYS!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣”

She added, Maks and I are beyond happy to have another buddy for Shai and Rio…we want them to be the best of friends and thinking about family dinners already makes us laugh! Not to mention when Rio turns 1 , I will give birth to this bundle of joy a couple of weeks later 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼”
The dancer also shared a video from their sex reveal party, which included a “We’re here fr the sex!” cake with question marks that their son Shai, 7, posed in front of. He also took a picture holding one pink and one blue balloon, looking extremely happy to be a big brother again. The family of four, including 8-month-old Rio, posed for a family photo in the clip, wearing all black.
Then, Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy shot powder cannons in the air, revealing a burst of blue. The cake was also filled with blue candy to celebrate the new addition.
The soon-to-be mom of 3 also revealed the naming tradition she is going to follow with her third son. “LET THE GAMES BEGIN …. Please drop name suggestions below 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 (only 3,4,5 letters) 💙,” she wrote.
In the comments, some people seemed disappointed with the baby news (uh, rude!). “Aw was hoping for a mini Peta 😁,” one person wrote. “You just can’t get a girl to save your life lol haha. Congratulations,” another said.
Others sent all the well wishes. “I wish people would stop saying they wished Peta was having a girl. Babies are a blessing, regardless of sex. 💙💖” someone wrote.
“A friend once told me having only boys means the mom gets to remain the queen. Not sure how true that is but it at least gives me a laugh. 🩵 congrats!” another confirmed. (As a fellow mom of 3 boys, I can confirm!)
Murgatroyd found out she was expecting her third baby just four months after little Rio was born. She called her husband and dropped all these hints about pregnancy, but he didn’t get it at first (such a man!). In the caption, she wrote, “Yes we know…we just had a baby… haha! This was very unexpected…but we are sooooo happy and so ready to be a family of 5 soon!”
Chmerkovskiy gave an update on his family to E! News in May 2023. “We really are just settling into enjoying the life and the beautiful things about this. There’s a lot of negativity out there, we are very much in touch with it, but we’re keeping it out there,” he said. “When I come home I also focus on how gorgeous my wife is, seven-months pregnant, and I have this beautiful puppy and this beautiful 6-year-old.”
And soon, he’ll have one more blessing to count!
