Peta Murgatroyd, Maksim Chmerkovskiy Share First Photo of Rainbow Baby

Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd's newborn son made his social media debut.
In a new Instagram post, Murgatroyd shared a photo of the baby, who is snuggled up in a beige onesie next to a plaque revealing his name: Rio John.
The Dancing With the Stars alum captioned the adorable picture, "💙 Rio John Chmerkovskiy 💙 Born ~ 6.18.2023. 8.6 oz and thriving! We are overjoyed to share our baby boy with all of you. @shai.aleksander is already the best big brother and we all feel very complete. Life is good XO."
The parents received congratulations from many of their famous friends.
"OBSESSED. and LOVE the name. I won’t steal it but damn that’s a good one! Hahah. So precious," wrote Jana Kramer, who is currently also expecting a child with fiancé Allan Russell. Her former Dancing With the Stars co-star Cheryl Burke also was excited over the news of Rio's arrival, commenting, "OMG! Congratulations! Can’t wait to meet Baby Rio soon 💙💙💙."
"He's perfect," gushed Jessie James Decker, while Chmerkovskiy's sister-in-law and So You Think You Can Dance contestant Jenna Johnson remarked, "You are so loved Rio!!! We’ve been waiting for you!"
A day before the birth of Rio, Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd made a joint post with a montage of their first son Shai as a baby, reflecting on the day they welcomed him and how the six-year-old's dream of becoming an older brother finally came true.
"You finally get your wish too. I will never forget you asking me when you aren't going to be alone anymore, you said 'Mummy, I'm sad…" I said 'Why my love what happened?' …he said 'I'm alone…when will it be my turn to get a brother or sister?' ……it broke my heart, if only you knew knew…I turned my face away as I welled up with tears," read the caption.
It continued, "I knew how badly you wanted someone else, a friend, a mate. It ripped me to pieces for years. Now here we are, days away from meeting our next addition."
The birth of baby Rio comes after the couple had tried to have another child for years. Murgatroyd had previously opened up about experiencing a miscarriage, which was both emotionally and physically devastating. "I felt like I was dying, but then I obviously knew what had happened," she said. "It was just all too much for my body and I couldn't do it. I couldn't believe that this was happening to me."
