Pet of the Week: Sweet cat and calm dog ready for adoption

Apr. 25—Meet Bonnie Sue!

Bonnie Sue has some very unique features, as if her splendid personality weren't special enough. This pretty Siamese and dilute tortoiseshell cat was pregnant when she arrived, and she had a litter of healthy kittens who have since been adopted. Bonnie Sue's sweet demeanor and easy-going nature are so easy to love, and her seal point markings, light blue eyes and extra toe per paw (polydactyl) make her very distinctive, indeed. You can meet this pretty cat today.

Meet Piston!

Piston is an adorable 2-year-old pit mix that came to the shelter as a stray and for reasons we can't understand was looked over by adopters for months. He was then selected to participate in the Puppies for Parole program and is housetrained, crate-trained, leash-trained, well-mannered and knows all his basic commands. Piston has a calm and gentle demeanor. He would make a fantastic walking buddy and an even better snuggle buddy. He loves people and does well with most other dogs as well.
