Perdue Is Dropping a Beer Can Chicken Beer Perfect for Grilling Season

Ever made a beer can chicken? Well Perdue—yes the chicken company—has the perfect beer for you.

Dubbed the Beer Can Chicken Beer, the chicken giant's new release is a team-up with NYC's Torch & Crown Brewing Company. It's described as a "honey double-citrus summer ale brewed with classic grilled chicken seasonings like rosemary, thyme, and pink peppercorn to help backyard grillers make the perfect beer can chicken."

That's right, they designed the beer specifically to be used in a beer can chicken recipe. That's not to say you can't drink a little bit, too. The company is encouraging would-be chefs to set some aside for their own drinking pleasure.

“Beer can chicken has long been one of the most popular methods of grilling poultry, but we noticed a lack of consensus on what type of beer is best,” said Julie Lehman, Perdue's vice president of marketing said in a press statement. "As the fresh chicken experts, we worked with our friends at Torch & Crown Brewing Company to settle the debate for once and all and make a beer that is expertly crafted to help backyard cooking enthusiasts prepare the ultimate beer can chicken."

You can purchase six packs of the beer starting May 22 at 9a.m. online while supplies last. You might also spot the customized Perdue chicken packaging in stores this summer sporting the beer can chicken initiative.
