Perdido Key Area Chamber to host World Ocean Day celebration

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — World Ocean Day is coming up, and the Perdido Key Area Chamber is getting ready to host its own event for the celebration.

According to a press release, the Perdido Key Area Chamber’s event is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, at Beach Access #4 near the Crab Trap restaurant. It promises to be “an unforgettable day of fitness, family-friendly activities, beach vendors and fun!”

Event-goers can enjoy a free beach yoga session, enjoy a book at kids story time, participate in a volunteer beach clean-up activity, visit with vendors, learn from ocean experts and watch an ocean-themed family movie, the release said.

According to the release, all activities are free for vendors and the public to attend.

Below is the schedule for the event:

  • 7:30 a.m.: Free beach yoga with Bliss Yoga (at Perdido Key Beach Access #4)

  • 8:30 a.m.: Beach clean-up activity (at Perdido Key Beach Acces #4)

  • 8:30 a.m.: Visit with tent vendors (at Perdido Key Beach Access #4)

  • Noon: Free ocean-themed family movie (at Southwest Library Branch/ Gulf Beach Highway)

  • 2 p.m.: Event concludes
